The problem is the majority of scholarships are financial or need based...my family is in the upper middle class and doesn't really qualify for these financial aid things. However my parents do not want to pay for my education (at least not entirely)...so are there any scholarship competitions or anything that is possible to earn?

There are many highly reputable colleges and universities that use merit-aid awards to attract students they want. Usually these awards go to students near the top of the applicant pool. In practical terms, this often means you can get a merit award if you could have gotten into (or did get into) someplace more competitive. But often the school will offer other benefits in addition to money, such as a spot in its honors program.

I suggest you read the section on Merit Aid in the FAQ at the top of this forum.

Lilly, the biggest scholarships that are for all FOUR years of college are awarded by colleges themselves based on your test scores and GPA. Many do not care how much your family earns.

Go to this link…post 264…and find schools that will give you merit for your stats. These are assured merit for stats.

You’re not likely going to find a random scholarship for all four years that you can just apply to any school you choose. Those scholarships are usually need based. The other private scholarships are usually only for freshman year, so that won’t help you pay for those other 3 years.

What are your test scores and GPA?

What was your PSAT score?

How much will your parents pay each year?

Are you a rising senior?
