Scholarship interviews: USC and LMU

I'm in such a mess right now.
I am relying on the hope that I'll get an interview request for scholarships to USC, and my future career is almost riding on Trustees, if i get that i'm happy happy.
Loyola Marymount also has interiews in March, but as they only give 10 i think, full scholarships, i don't know if i'm qualified enough.

Point is, one, maybe two trips to LA in March.
May cause me to have to drop out of the school musical... which was on my apps... so if they ask me about it i would have to say "i had to drop out of The Sound of the Music so that i could come here for my interview" : (

point is --- what are the options, esp. for USC but for LMU too, of chances to go down for the scholarship interview? the websites aren't too descriptive

i don't want to wait for the letters because if i have to drop out of the musical, i don't want to have wasted many hours of practice, and make some poor understudy learn my part super fast
The performances are the last 2 weekends of March
And major rehearsals all weekend for the 2 weekends before
I just don't see these things working out

My son was in many school events and still made all of his auditions and interviews which were outrageously many. If you get notification that you are to be interviewed, and there is a conflict with the musical, they are likely to move it for you. This was done for my son on several occaisions. Not once was there a date set in stone. It can happen, but doubtful. Also, unless the actual performance is exactly on those days, spring musicals have to often be flexible, just as any sport all year are, for when a college calls for something. IF you get a major role, ask for an understudy. Even minor role should have an understudy, someone from tech if necessary with someone with a minor role understudying for the major role. This happens all of the time with seniors.
