Hello!
Has anyone used scholarship money for application fees?
Is it a ludicrous idea?

You can ask for waivers from each school. You can also get a few test scores from SAT. Some schools have free applications on line or will send you a code if you attend a college fair or other presentation at your high school.

You should plan your applications carefully and not just send apps to 20 schools.

15, I would check VERY carefully with whomever awarded you scholarships BEFORE I used that money for applications. Check VERY carefully. There is likely a provision that you use the money to pay for attending college…not applying to college.

As noted, there are fee waivers if requested under certain circumstances.

The NACAC website will also give you info on how to receive fee waivers. Also, email/call each college now and ask if they can provide one.
