I was wondering if the full tuition given as part of Temple’s presidential scholarship applies to their schools in Japan and Rome. If my daughter wants to study abroad will her scholarship for full tuition still apply or will we have to pay out of pocket?
check with study abroad dept and financial aid. when i asked FA, i was told my son would have to pay tuition for any summer study abroad programs. and that he could use one of his stipends to offset those costs so long as he got stipend paperwork in on time and it sounds like the international dept and his school would have helped him with the stipend paperwork. as i understood the person that i asked at financial aid, my son could use his tuition scholarship for any study abroad program he did during the fall and spring semester if it was a Temple program(which i know Temple has Japan campus and i think they have Rome campus too). hope this helps. and please get in touch with the study abroad program to verify this and see if there are any other steps that need to be taken. and let us know on here what you find out as we and i guess others have considered letting our kid study abroad.
My son is hoping to do a semester in Rome and my understanding is that his scholarships will apply towards that semester just as if he was in Philly. Tuition at either the Rome or Tokyo campuses is the same as Philly but housing & meals will be different. Students are advised to attend an information session as soon as they know that they want to study abroad.
I asked the same question specifically when I went on my visit, and I was told by both the study abroad program and the honors office that you’re other (full tuition) scholarships will apply if you study abroad in the school year but not during the summer.
