Is it possible to receive scholarship money after your freshman year, if I did not receive any money to begin with?

There are Department scholarships… but I think those are usually only like $500 or so.

I believe those are mostly reserved for upperclassmen.

I don’t think the actual financial aid office awards anymore university scholarships though.

Our daughter did receive a departmental scholarship after her freshman year. It was more in the range of $1000, but being from out of state it did make her eligle for reduced tuition as well. It was awarded based on her GPA after freshman year and she was able to re-apply yearly as long as she maintained above a 3.0gpa I believe.

That’s good to know.

Anything $500 and above gets you in-state, I believe.

^I remember reading in an old thread that it’s up to each individual department as to whether or not they decide to award in-state tuition rates, but I can’t remember where.

But either way, it seems that you can get scholarship money after freshman year… which is nice to know.
