My freshman D did not qualify for any scholarships this year but has done extremely well her first semester. Assuming that she performs at the same level next semester would she be eligible for any scholarship opportunities next year?

nhParent, our D recieved no scholarships her freshman year. As a freshman she had a 3.95gpa at the end of the year. At some point when she returned to school after winter break as a freshman she applied for departmental scholarships, she is in Moore Business school. Much to our surprise she recieved a sccholarship which is active to this day and is based on her reapplying and her gpa, she is now a junior. The scholarship amount was enough for her to recieve a discounted tuition which is not as low as in state tuition but is quite sizable on top of the scolarship amount. Hope this helps.

Nogimmies - thanks for the info!! My D is also in the Moore business school and has a 3.9 GPA. Where can I find the application for a departmental scholorship??

nhParent my daughter is a soph in the journalism school so I’m not sure if it works differently but she has to reapply for her departmental scholarship every year. I believe she goes to the departmental webite and gets the applications. I know this year there are two others she is applying for in addition to the one she got last year. Her applications have to be in the week they return and delivered in person. Have your daughter check the website for the business school. Even if she receives a small departmental scholarship USC usually then gives you a reduced tuition. Good luck!

This is the page you want to look at for the business school…

I know that current freshman can apply for Honors College entry…this also might be a way to get considered for scholarships…
best of luck

Now this will come in handy, I am definitely going to have to take advantage of this and apply
