Scholarship Notification!

Just found out I'm a finalist for the Moog fellowship! I'm beyond excited and can't wait to go to WashU!!

congratulations, that’s great! how did you find out, OP?

Thanks so much!! The dean of the college of arts and sciences called me. I was totally in shock and barely comprehended what she was telling me, but she was super nice!

Congratulations! has anyone received notification for the Rodriguez scholarship yet?

Congrats! Do you mind posting stats? I applied as well and haven’t heard anything yet.

Yes, please share your stats! Anyone else heard anything?

ACT: 36 superscore (35M 36R 35W 36S)
GPA: 4.5 cumulative, 5.00 currently
Extracurriculars: Debate, science olympiad, orchestra, and tennis are the big ones that I’ve won a lot of awards in, as well as a bunch of other miscellaneous clubs
Research: I’ve worked in a genetics laboratory at Case Western Reserve University for two summers, one as an internship and the other as a paid research assistant. I worked with a sixth year graduate student on a project to sequence and assign function to novel lncRNAs last summer. My science essay was all about the incredible amount of work I’ve done in the lab for the past two years, which is probably why they selected me. I had a great letter of rec from my PI who’s very well known in the neuroscience field.
Research is my passion and I plan to pursue an MD-PhD after graduation, which I also expressed in my app.
If there’s anything else you want to know please ask! :)

Wow no surprise then haha…once again congrats. I feel like my research simply wasn’t up to par with what they were looking for. Stats are there but research is meh so while I’m holding out hope to get a call maybe tomorrow, I’ll take comfort in knowing that they truly took the best of the best as finalists.

Wow you are actually incredible haha. Do you think research experience will be as important for the Mylonas scholarship?

Thanks so much!! Research should be important regardless of the scholarship in my opinion, but I’m not sure what they’re looking for in Mylonas. Best of luck though!!

Congratulations @holsen1432 you deserve it. Great Stats and amazing Research work you did… Wish you to get the Full Tuition…

Thank you so much!! I’m still in shock that I’ll be getting at least half! I’m sure everyone who’s selected is amazing and I can’t wait to meet them!

I got my Danforth finalist notification at around 7PM EST!
I did not get a call however. According to the email, I should be getting a call about Danforth sometime next week.

Congrats to holsen and gomdorri!
I applied for the SSBBR, does anyone have any news about that one?

@gomdorri Could you please post your stats? I’m a Danforth hopeful and wanted to see if I have a shot. Thanks!

Congrats to the winners.
I guess the calls have started for Moog and Danforth. Please update this site if you have started getting calls for Moog, Ervin, Rodriguez or any other.
Thank you

Also, from reading the past threads, it looks like they will update the pathway about scholarships on President’s day Monday at around 4:30 pm. Is that true?

Does anyone have any info on when the Conway-Proetz Scholarship (the art one) people are being notified?

I received a call last night (maybe 6pm?) for the John B. Ervin/Rodriguez scholarship. I actually didn’t understand which one she said, since I was in a restaurant, lol. I don’t know if it changes anything, but I’m from STL, so maybe that means I’ll get a call earlier?? Anyway, very excited, and congrats to everyone else as well!!!

Hey for those of you who have gotten calls, what is your current scholarship status on the pathway?

“The Academic Scholarship & Fellowship Programs application deadline has passed. All scholarship application materials have been sent to the faculty committees for review.”
