Got the Ignatius Magis scholarship today in southern MI! $6700 a year. pretty happy about this, definitely moved it up my list

D got $12,000 a year :)

Son got 12K a year

My daughter was very happy to get her award letter and find that Marquette is now less expensive than going to our state flagship school for engineering. (Her parents are very happy also!)

Just spoke to admissions and learned the average award is $3700/yr, which is interesting since most posters here received far more - I had a sense of what the top end is but not the bottom or middle. It helps me make some sense out of my son’s award.

Has anyone determined if a Magis scholarship is offered seperate from the Ignatius this year? My daughter was very excited with her Ignatius recognition of $12,000 per year. My elder daughter is a student at MU right now and her Magis came seperate of the Ignatius. Not getting greedy…just being realistic in our costs - 2 in college next year!

The Ignatius and any Magis is all on one letter.

Son also received $12k/yr. Good incentive for him to please, please, please complete the Honors Program application and also the Pere Marquette Explorer scholarship app. this week!

“The Ignatius and any Magis is all on one letter.”

Yes - helpful admissions rep told me this also. Last year there was apparently a second letter for Magis award but it caused confusion, so this year it’s one letter and one only.

Did you fill out forms for the scholarship?
or did Marquette just send you a letter saying you received a scholarship?

No forms to fill out. They just gave them out based on your application stats.
