I am a current freshmen at a state school. During my senior year, i applied to another state schools full ride program. I had the credentials, and was emailed that anyone with credentials will be awarded an interview. After months have passed, i was not contacted again. In march, i called multiple times with no answer and was told they would get back to me, and later told me they overlooked my profile and did not realize my ACT was high enough (which it was). At this point, they had already awarded the scholarship to students they interviewed, but never reached out to me because of a mess up with their system. Do you think this is fair/ anything i could do about this?? I know it is a great amount of time later but I regret not going to higher administration about how they lost my scores. Also, i was promised an interview for weeks after i called and was told week after week i would get a call back with a date, but never did. Opinions?
Based on your version of the events, it’s not “fair.” Welcome to the real world. At this point, why would you want to do anything about it? What’s your goal? Do you want to be offered the full ride scholarship at the other state school and transfer? Without knowing further details, I would say that it’s probably best to just file this away as a valuable lesson learned.
