Scholarship Pathway problem

Anyone having trouble saving their scholarship app?

My son had random problems–sometimes it would work fine, other times it would crash. Once it happened the first time, he made sure he had copies of his answers to cut and paste and would save after he filled out a small section. It seemed like saving frequently worked better than waiting until the entire app was filled out. There didn’t seem to be any predictable pattern on what would precipitate a crash.

I had the same problem when I was doing the app in Firefox. Try Internet Explorer… did the trick for me.

When do they contact students about Mong or Lein or Ervin scholarships?

Last year it was near the end of Feb.

Kajon did you receive a scholarship last year? If so, what was scholarship weekend like and do they really wait until end of Feb to invite scholars to weekend that is March 23-36 this year? Close timing…

Calls should go out this weekend, based on last year…Not much longer to wait!

No - I just looked up the old forum posts and most kids either got phone calls, emails or read it on the pathway if they were a finalist. The past 3 years the dates have all been around the 20-23rd of Feb. My son is hoping for the Deans Scholarship this year…along with how many thousand other kids???

Good luck to everyone.

Thanks. Good luck to everyone. Seems as if the other colleges who have their scholarship competitions for that March24-26 weekend have already done their annoucements and invitations. I hope WUSL announces soon so we know whether or not to book the flights fot the other schools. Wonder why they are so late in dealing with this invitation…

FYI,
My D just got a phone call notifying that she’s a finalist for the Proetz(?) art scholarship. I guess she was automatically considered for it once she submitted art portfolio. They told her that she will receive another email with a new password to log on by Monday, then a letter in the mail sometimes next week. She’s invited to WUSTL the last weekend of March. They confirmed that by being a finalist, she is definitely admitted. She is absolutely delighted!

Good luck everyone. Also, we almost did not pick up the phone since it did not say WUSTL. Look like the admission office personnel may have made the phone call after hours since we received it around 5pm Pacific time.

Congratulations to your daughter! How wonderful for her. Good luck for the finalist interviews!

Thank you momdoc.
The phone call was totally unexpected since she never had to fill out any form so it was under the radar for us. It was gratifying to see her over the moon. These kids worked hard for 12 years and art is so subjective, there is always that little doubting voice “Am I good enough…” No matter what happens next, I think she is relieved that someone (besides her parents of course!) thinks that she’s more than good enough.
Phone calls are going out so I hope everyone will get theirs. If I work in the admissions office, this is the one job I will beg to do. The joy of listening to all that happy squealing!

First, I want to say congratulations! Second, what time did the call come in?

She said 5 pm Pacific time on Friday evening.

anxiously waiting…

will you be notified if you were not selected at a finalist??? or you just won’t get a call???

Anyone else waiting for the Deans Scholarship for Business?

@Kajon - I’m waiting for the business scholarship. Truthfully, I’m not expecting good news, seeing as I wrote the bulk of my essays the morning/day of (with the deadline extension, no less :P). But I suppose I’ll leave it in the hands of the scholarship committee.

My son had trouble keeping his political views out of the question about what is the most pressing problem facing the world today…If the scholarship committee leans the same way politically then there is hope, otherwise…

Kajon I applied for the deans scholarship as well and managed to remain politically neutral; I applied just to boost my chances of getting into the university in the first place. I fully expect a denial but it would be pretty cool if I somehow advanced.

Any one hear about Lein or Moong or Rodriguez or Ervin?
