scholarship possibilities

Hey guys, I recently was accepted to the University of Kansas, but applied late. I was wondering if I still will be able to receive any scholarships even though I missed the early action deadline. Thanks guys.

Look on their website.

They are pretty strict about the November 1st deadline. If you qualify for any of the automatic scholarships (Pell Advantage, Rock Chalk, Crimson & Blue, Chancellor’s, etc) you can ask the fin aid office, but I wouldn’t expect much without a legitimate reason for applying after the deadline.

If you are in-state see if the Hixson Opportunity Award would be a fit. It’s a very competitive scholarship (ten awarded each year, and last year there were around 150 applicants) but the deadline isn’t until January or February.

I called and now I have received the highest oos scholarship possible!

Congrats! How much did you get per year?

Thanks! And only 11k, but I’m hoping to receive more through other sources!

Congrats! Is this the Crimson & Blue scholarship? Or the KU Pell Advantage?
@MitchIsTheMan97‌

Actually it’s the KU Excellence Scholarship. I was wrong on the amount, it’s only $9,675, but I’m still happy with that.

Congrats!!

Do you have any schools that you know for sure that you can afford and have all costs covered? Awhile back you said that your dad was losing his job. Has he found another? If not, do you have affordable schools on your list?

@MitchIsTheMan97‌

He’s still looking for another job, so hopefully he’ll find one too! And yes, I have received scholarships from SIU Edwardsville and Missouri State where the cost for everything would be a mere $5k! My number one schools are the University of Kansas, UMinn, and U of Iowa, but those cost considerably more, so I’m hoping to receive more scholarships from them! Thank you so much for your concern @mom2collegekids !

congrats @mitchintheman97 sounds like you have some solid plans in place and a good financial option if others don’t happen. Be sure when you get to college that you keep your scholarships and spend the time on academics. Good luck!

Thank you very much @SOSConcern‌ ! I appreciate your advice!
