Howard says that scholarships are awarded on a first-come basis (obviously when requirements are met).
About what time of year are they "gone"?

Lol they really aren’t. I applied in October and got the Legacy and I know people who applied in March and got the Capstone.

Not sure if this is correct but our counselor told people to apply EA is they wanted to lock in the money…BUT that generally money was set aside for really high scorers. National Achievement Finalist get a full ride…but the list of Finalist won’t even come out until late in January so that have to still have money then to make that offer!

Plus, based on what 908 is saying, it could go well beyond that. Still, it probably is best to go ahead and apply just to be sure. The online application is very, very simple.

One other thing…the counselor also said that as a courtesy if we got the scholarship and decide to before May 1 to go someplace else that we should let Howard (or any school that set money aside for us) know so that might be able to offer it to someone else. NC Central, FAMU and others already have been sending out their full ride offers.
