Scholarship Question

So on the bama website there are they types of scholarships. When I click on “additional competitive scholarships”, I found the Alumni Honors Scholarship. My question is this: do all entering freshmen who satisfy the requirements get this? It’s awarded by the alumni association so I thought you have to be related to an alumni. Am I wrong about this?

If I remember correctly, if any parents joins, then the student gets the award. Others can correct me if i’m Wrong or if times have changed. Don’t know how far in advance a parent has to join.
