Scholarship renewal

I will be starting my fourth year at the University of North Dakota next semester and am attending on a 4-year renewable scholarship. I noticed while I was renewing my scholarship that the conditions state that it is renewable for up to four years or until baccalaureate degree requirements are met.

UND requires 125 credits to graduate and I'm currently 13 short of that requirement. I switched majors at the beginning of the year and need classes that are only offered in the Spring semester to graduate with my degree. My question is, will I have issues receiving the scholarship for next Spring if I take more than 13 credits (since I've met the requirements for graduation), or will I still qualify since I haven't met the requirements for my degree?

Friends of mine who have had similar scholarships (not National Merit) and been in the same situation have advised me to take 12 next semester, but I would prefer to take at least 15. Has anyone else been in this situation?

A student can’t graduate until he/she earns a specific minimum number of credits AND fulfills the requirements for his/her major/degree. Many students have more than the minimum number of credits needed for a degree but continue in school because they haven’t completed the specific classes needed for the degree. In short, you will not have “issues” next spring.

I don’t think you have a problem. My son went all 8 semesters and graduated with about 180 credits…far more than what were needed.
