Guys, I received an email a few nights ago saying that I had been accepted to the College of Arts and Sciences. It also said that I had been chosen as a "Dean's scholar" which is essentially a Presidential scholar except my tuition is going to be paid in full. This isn't a joke, right? I looked all over the school's website and there was no information on a "Dean's Scholarship", and according to everyone on the internet NYU doesn't offer full rides. I did receive phone call from someone at the Department of Undergraduate Admissions, but this still seems kind of sketchy.

You received a phone call?

If I were you I would call a reliable number from the admissions website to see what the situation is. It doesn’t sound unrealistic to me though. Congrats!

The Office of Undergraduate Admissions isn’t open on Sunday. The phone call was after I responded to the email with my information. Hopefully I’m just being paranoid, but you know what they say about things that seem too good to be true.

See the post by peaceforourtime in the thread on RD2017. Sounds like congratulations are in order! Call admissions tomorrow just to verify. Wow!

Ya I think you should verify today…being a student at NYU I know that a “Dean’s Scholarship” does not necessarily mean a full ride though. Most Dean’s scholarships are b/w 4-10k.

If you were told otherwise, however, then congratulations!
