I was just wondering...
If you didn't apply for finaid does that automatically prevent you from receiving any scholarship money? Or can you get $ simply because you're "too good" ?

Wellesley doesn't give any kind of merit scholarship and all the students accepted have great resumes. If you didn't apply for aid, you won't get any.

If you do have financial need, however, they are extremely generous.

They actually exceeded my EFC, largely in grants.

Outside scholarships are completely separate from financial aid, except for the part where you have to report them to the finaid department (if you apply, which you did not), and they adjust your package accordingly (usually taking off loans).
Some (renewable) scholarships want your tax info, while others do not.

Prelude, if you don't mind, would you please state what your EFC is? I was surprised to see that I would only have to pay half of the tuition for another school with the cost about the same as that of Wellesley, but Wellesley is only giving a few thousand...don't want to sound greedy, but maybe it's something I should be concerned about. Thanks and you can message me if you don't want to post it on here.
