Scholarship?

Finally!! :D

Scholarship infor came in the mail today - I got what I was expecting! $7500 per year.

i got the presidential scholarship!

lol.. 10k a year isn't good enough kungfu? i got a full ride so i guess thats something, i still dont know where to go though

zircushio: what are your options?

I received the James Dickson Carr scholarship last friday and i got my acceptance letter the friday before that.

USC, UT, Rutgers, Berkeley - but i only heard from RU so far

Will Rutgers reward a scholarship to a student whose school doesn't report class rank?

timewarp: I think so. My school doesn't officially have class rank any more, but RU offered me some merit moolah. However, my counselor has 'unofficially' calculated that I'm the hypothetical valedictorian, so that fact might've slipped its way into some transcript note or recommendation. I don't think it did, though.

I got the presidential scholarship, to be precise. I don't particularly want to go to RU, but turning down $85,600 and never having to worry about loans or my parents guilt-tripping me is pretty darn tempting.

every person i've talked to (minus mason gross people because mason gross programs here are like, amazing) and all my friends didn't want to particularly come to rutgers. It was everyone's last resort but it all came down to money.

if you don't have the money to go to a private school, then choose rutgers. if you do have that kind of money, then just withdraw from the admitted pool and let someone else take that money. but if you don't have the money and would die coming here, like my friend who whines about not going to tufts all the time, then save yourself the anguish and just go where you want. your parents will ultimately support your decision.

I'm waiting to hear back on Scholarships and financial aid. If it is not enough for us, I might not be able to go to Rutgers, as my parents can't afford it. I might have to do Community college for 2 years, then transfer in.

Naoise - What to you know about Mason Gross? Do you know anyone enrolled in the visual arts, specifically painting? Anything you can elaborated on would be appreciated.

naoise, if i didn't think about coming here, i wouldn't have applied :)
it all comes down to what the other colleges say and how much it comes out to

zircushio, you're fine. I wasn't referring to you, that was in response to voidtobe, who said that he/she didn't particularly want to go here.

and I am only familiar with mason gross' theater and music programs, which are amazing, if I may say so. about visual arts, I don't really know much about it, other than that they have nice, new facilities and the location of those facilities? i don't know, the visual art dept is not really talked about here.

Just got back from the Honors program, it seems amazing. But my son still doesn't want to go to Rutgers even though he got the $10,000 scholarship.

I went to Rutgers many years ago and I found it intmidating, and kind of got lost. But the Honors Program does away with most of what I didn't like.
