Hello, I applied to UCB, UCLA, UCSB, UCSD, UCI, and USC. Can anyone predict the amount of scholarships I can receive with a 1540 SAT and 4.31 GPA. Thank you!
No one knows, other than the FA officers what you may be eligible to receive.
You do know that the UCs are state public schools with limited funding? They look at GPA in combination with SAT scores and even then, you’d be lucky to get $2k a year.
Most students who need FA, and attend those schools, get need-based funding from CalGrants.
USC is a private school and prefers NM winners.
If your scores help you get a Regents scholarship at the UCs, you’d get about $2k at most of the ones you listed and $6k at UCSB. There is nothing guaranteed for those scores though. If you are a NMF at USC, you’d get at least half tuition if you are accepted, but you’re competing against a few thousand other NMFs for about 250 or so scholarships that they want to give out.
My understanding is that NMF’s at USC are not competing with each other for the 1/2 scholarships. If you are NMF and are admitted, the 1/2 scholarship Presidential is automatic. This is based on discussions I had with admission officers this year. I also doubt that there are a few thousand NMF’s applying to USC, given that there are only 15,000 nation wide.
