Scholarships for incoming freshmen?

I got accepted to the UW a day earlier than it should be. I have a great need in financial aid and I am in the lower class. I have applied to some scholarships. But I am curious about UW's financial aid. Are they going to grant some freshmen some scholarships, grants, and or any sort of financial aid automatically? Or do we need to apply for them?

Could the welcome packet include some info about this? Thanks.

Just like you im wondering the same thing cause their admission letter doesn’t give very much detail. I filled out the fafsa and now im just keeping my fingers crossed. I heard they give pretty good financial aid.

If you applied for fafsa, go to myuw and check the status of your application and o if you need to submit more documentations.

What nana said.

Also, the admission letter will NOT talk about financial aid; that’s too specific to each person. It’s a generic letter that is printed with a unique recipient (you!) and I expect the admissions office is trying to pump those out asap.

We will find out our financial aid in Mid-April when we get our award letters from the UW. The Award letter will outline the financial aid we will receive and if we were chosen for any UW scholarships.
