Scholarships for International Students

Hi, I need a full scholarship to study CS in the US. I am an Indian with a 3.9 GPA(converted from Indian %) and expecting 1530/1540+ SAT and a few ECs. I can attend college in the US only with a very good scholarship. Can anyone help me??

You would need to look either for merit scholarships once you know your sat score, or for need based aid if your family makes less than a certain amount of money (125k a year, 65k a year).
Just know that there are literally tens of thousands of Indian kids who want to study CS in the US whereas most top colleges will only admit a few, so you need to make contingency plans.

What’s your budget?

For instance, with these stats, you would get a full tuition at U Alabama, leaving about $16,000. With a weighted 4.0 and 1600 (or 36 ACT) you would get a near full ride.

Can your parents contribute anything for you to attend college in the U.S? If not, you should also consider colleges in India.

If you indeed get close to 1600 on your SAT, you would be a competitive applicant for schools that meet full need (I’m assuming your family is low income). But the rub is that acceptances from your area of the world are in the very very low single digits. Many well qualified applicants don’t get accepted.

You should check University of New Mexico for scholarships. Maybe something there would make the school affordable.

You are hoping an American college will fully find your college education, right? In addition to applying in the U.S, I think you need a plan B.

Apply, but understand that your chances are very limited.

If you look at the posts on this website, and note the proliferation of your countrymen with similar stats, everyone appears to be the same student with almost all of them looking to major in CS, and most needing financial aid to attend.

Understand that the CS major is “impacted” at most universities. This means that too many applicants are vying for too few seats.
If you need financial aid, the universities are watching their pennies. The Pandemic caused losses of income in room and board fees, franchise income and university-related products and activities ($$$ producing athletic events). They are going to be VERY PICKY on who they choose to spend their precious limited funds.

As per previous posts, you need to find a safety at home. There are no US safeties for international students.
