I was wondering what schools, if any, give scholarships for commended students. I got a 207 on the psat (NY) and I'm pretty sure I'll be commended. I've seen tons of scholarships for semifinalists and finalists but i dont know about commended students. Btw if it matters i got a 2290 on the sat so maybe that could back me up more for merit aid?

There are some for commended, but most are not sizable.

You will be much better off looking at automatic scholarships for SAT/ACT/GPA and competitive scholarships.

I rarely see anything for Commended students. I think I saw one scholarship, but I don’t remember the school.

Your SAT score could get you large merit. Use Bob’s link…go towards one the last pages of the threads for latest listings.

What is your major?

How much merit money do you need? how much will your family pay each year?

Five-year old post to follow-up on. No idea if these are still available.

Wright State is indeed one of the most generous, full tuition for NMCS, but it’s in-state only.

The rest you listed don’t offer anything special.

Is there any list for scholarships that top 100 colleges offer for high sat scores, preferably in the northeast? My parents will get about half aid and I was hoping I’d get some of the rest tuition in scholarships. And do colleges even care about commended students that much?

Financial aid doesn’t work that way. If you are getting financial aid equal to half the cost of the school and you get a merit scholarship, it will be used to reduce your aid and your cost will stay the same. You can only come out ahead by getting a merit award larger than your “need” as determined by the school.
