<p>aleaiactaest is correct; Stanford offers merit aid only for athletes as far as I know. Most scholarships are need based aid.</p>

<p>Athletes are getting athletic scholarships. These are based on athletic merit, not scholastic.</p>

<p>However, many may already be qualifying due to financial need.</p>
