Are there scholarships available for students entering college this fall?

or all scholarships gone...

google.com

I’m looking for the same types of scholarships. I’ve searched on google, but it’s so hard to filter through all the things that I’m not eligible for.
Any other suggestions?

fastweb.com!

There’s always more scholarships out there.

True, the stereotype is that they are for high school seniors, but there are tonsssss of scholarships for college undergrads! The process doesn’t stop once you graduate high school! Keep applying for them every year you go to college, or else you’re going to see a substantial increase in the amount you pay each year for college.

The ones that could be used for this upcoming 09-10 school year are probably mostly done with, but keep searching! You never know what is out there, and if you apply for one now and get the money in January or something, that will help as well!

Actually, if you go on fastweb, celine, there’s scholarships year round! And also keep in mind, a LOT of them let you apply again the following year!

Look in your community, employers, chambers of commerce, ask your guidance counselor about sources. Understand that less than 4% of all the money used to pay for college is in the form of a scholarship, so while you are doing that focus more on how to increase your eligibility for aid and researching schools that give a lot of aid. Don’t spend all of your time chasing 4% of the money. Then when you find it, any aid award you would get will be offset by the amount of the scholarship! Perspective is needed here.

Shameless bump.
:)

Bumping again.

Try for scholarships at the college you attend - often there are funds sets aside for upperclassman instead of incoming freshman, and even merit scholarships for good GPAs, community service, etc. Explore them!

Thanks for the advice. I’ve started looking through them, but, as you said, most of them are for upper classmen. I’m particularly interested in finding some that I can apply for this fall, as a freshman. Any other ideas (maybe corporate scholarships you’ve heard of)?
