Scholarships

The thing is, if the school does not rank, then Rutgers will send a letter to the counselor asking for a percentage that the student is in. I had that problem too and i called and emailed Rutgers and they both replied back saying to ask the counselor to resend the percentage. cuz all you need is a percentage and you SAT score to get the scholarship.....

as an out of stater do i need better stats to get a scholarship than a nj resident would need, is there a different set of criteria? --just wondering i'll be lucky to get

Yea, Chi. The lady told me about that. I was getting conflicting stories though. One person said the letter was sent out and Rutgers didn't get a reply. Next time I had called another lady said the letters hadn't been sent out yet. Maybe she didn't understand what I was talking about?
Anyways, that drama is behind me now. I got the Carr Scholarship. =] No one gave me my mail yesterday, I just found the letter on the coffee table, lol. Now I gotta convince the parentals to let me dorm (it's gonna be a battle...).

I called Rutgers today to ask them about the merit scholarships. She told me that scholarship letters go out after admission letters, not with admission letters (of course I know differnet from you all, but didn't say so). She daid the last date for sending out scholarship letters is Feb. 28, so there is still time. She said that the guidance counselor would be sent a letter requesting class rank. I asked if she could check his file and she said they are not able to do that, but to call if we do not have something by the end of Feb.

Amazingly, opened the mail today and had a letter from Rutgers asking for DS class rank, saying they are contacting his GC regarding merit scholarship!

the high school i come from we don't rank however some recieved merit scholorships right on the spot....my sister is enrolled right now as a frosh she had recieved all of her scholorship stuff with her acceptance letter and such i guess it really just depends and btw they didn't contact the school or anything to ask about rank and such

has anyone heard about scholarships recently???

DS received a letter today awarding him $5,000 per year, $20,000 total. Good news!

Yes I recieved a scholarship with my admissions letter - 14,000 over 4 years (not much, but better than nothing).

Got a letter a few days ago. $20,000 over 4 years ($5000 per year). 3.5 UW 1360 SAT
