Scholarships

Did anyone receive any scholarships with their acceptance letters? I'm trying to determine if I just didn't get one or they just haven't been mailed yet.

i havent gotten one yet either, i heard they send them out much later

Hi! I received a letter in my acceptance package about the scholarship I was awarded. Hope it helps. Congratulations. By the way what us your intended major?

ree for which scholarship? i know i qualify for the $5000 OSA scholarship because im in top 10% of my class & i got a 1430 on the SAT, but last year's seniors at my school said you won't find out until spring.

i was given the 3k award, but i think my senior grades will bump me towards the 5k awad...will they send me another letter?

im out of state and i got 5k "university merit award". im in the top 5% of my class and i have 1360 SAT score. and i also received another scholarship from douglass college today.

i'm top 5%? at least top 10% and have a 1510, i haven't gotten anything

cujoe169--wow, u should def. get something soon.

My friend already got his scholarships (60,000-4 years) but I haven't gotten any.... i think i should def. get something...1400 n top 10%.

just be patient i guess..... =T

Anybody know anyone who was awarded the Carr Scholarship?

yes i know someone.

Yes I recieved a scholarship with my admissions letter - 14,000 over 4 years (not much, but better than nothing).

What was the person's stats for the Carr Scholarship?

she had an 1170/1600 but i went to this overnight thing at rutgers for the carr scholarship and they say to qualify u needa 1150/1600 and top sumthng percent...but my school doesnt rank. im still waiting 4 my acceptance letter i applied a long time ago. i gotta 1200 so i hope to get the carr scholarship as well

I got invited to do the overnight thing, but I couldn't go. I went to the breakfast they had. I got a 1290 and my school doesn't rank either. Weird.

http://admissions.rutgers.edu/080101.asp

you need a minimum 1250 SAT, M + CR, to recieve a merit based scholarship.

I didn't get a scholarship and I have a 1400 n in the top 10%.

I got accepted w/o any scholarships so I called them and they said to send the admission office an email explaining the situation. So...if anyone think they should get a scholarship and it's been a while and u still didn't get it (and go accepted of course), I suggest you email them.

Yeah, I found out that since my school doesn't rank Rutgers sent a letter asking my school to give a rank. But my school never got back to them. I'm so ****ed at that. I'm not sure if it's too late or not either, but if it is I don't know what to do about it now. My school completely screwed me over. But yeah, guys, if you feel that you deserved something, you better get on the phone and find out what happened!

I got a scholarship letter along with my acceptance letter.

I am so sorry fallenangel!!! Hope everything works out.

Btw, does anyone know how high we have to keep our senior grades before they take away the scholarships? Do they change the scholarship amount if you get your gpa/rank even higher before the end of the year? And no I'm not planning on slacking off and letting my grades slide because I know I'm in college, but it would just be nice to know in case. Thanks. :)

DS was accepted OOS with 1300 SAT and 3.62 average, his graduating class only has 25 students and doesn't rank. I thought he would have been eligible for a scholarship - should I look into this? Would he not receive one due to lack of rank?

Thanks, stargirl. I called Rutgers again and the lady I talked to said there's still time so hopefully it'll work out. Spikemom, you should call Rutgers and ask about it. Since his class is so small I can't imagine Rutgers not giving him a scholarship because he's not top 10%.
