Scholarships???

Hi, I'm currently a high school junior in New York. I personally love San Diego and I am really interested in biomedical engineering. UCal San Diego seems like the perfect school for me, the only issue would be money. My parents make a combined 200k a year, so I realize I wouldn't be eligible for any finical aid. I was wondering if UCal San Diego offers merit scholarships. If so how difficult are they to receive? Is there an average scholarship?
Personal experiences would be appreciated.
Thank you very much for any and all responses :)

There are merit scholarships given out while you are attending UCSD but they are only $500-$1500 depending on your GPA. I don’t know about the GPA requirements for this scholarship but I applied and received $1000 and I have a 3.89 GPA right now so hope that gives you an idea.
Also, I think there are several engineering scholarships that you can look into but they may require you to be eligible for financial aid before you can apply, whereas the one I mentioned before is for everyone I’m assuming since I got it and I don’t qualify for financial aid either.

Thank you very much although the news is a little disheartening. I believe I would qualify for at least $1000 since my GPA is 3.98. The price would still be pretty steep for me without any other scholarships. Thank you very much for your response.

I think you may have misunderstood my response lol that scholarship I mentioned is for students who are enrolled and attending UCSD, not for incoming students. But yeah, I feel you…attending a public university that is not in your state is almost as expensive as attending a private university!

Oh okay, I did misunderstand you. Thank you for clearing that up.
