Scholarships?

<p>Below is a post that I copied from the general scholarship thread in the hopes one of you “current Webster parents out there” :slight_smile: could advise what your experience is with Websiter in terms of talent scholarships.</p>

<p>“SEATA - As far as Webster is concerned, I do know that they are very generous with scholarship money for those who qualify academically/leadership/community service wise. I also know that this is separate from the MT artistic evaluation as my D was offered this when she was accepted academically, which was way prior to auditioning. In fact this was one of the schools I referred to, as increasing the scholarship money as time went by. I am not familiar with their talent scholarships however (my D canceled her audition and retracted her application) or if they even offer some, but may be some current Webster parents could chime in. In fact, I went ahead, and copied & pasted this onto a Webster thread for you to see if someone ‘in the know’ perhaps could help out :).”</p>

<p>My S was also offered a very nice academic scholarship, but we have heard nothing yet about his audition and whether he is admitted to the program.</p>

<p>My son also received a nice academic scholarship when admitted to the school. I'm not sure if the Mt program will offer another scholarship when admitted into the program.</p>

<p>I believe, and Plaidman may jump in here and correct me if I'm wrong, Webster offers academic/merit based scholarships to incoming freshman and talent scholarships are not awarded until third and fourth years.</p>

<p>I'm not Plaidman, but I can still answer your question. The Conservatory does offer some talent scholarships, but they are indeed almost exclusively for third and fourth year students. This is mainly due to the fact they want to award these scholarships to students who they know are working hard, taking their craft seriously, and will finish the program.</p>
