Hi, I'm currently a junior in high school and as senior year approaches I've started to research scholarships for college. Many of my teachers and counselors have given me great lists of scholarships but one thing that they seem to have in common is the age requirement. They all require that the applicant must be 18 yrs or older and I'm still 16 and by the time I graduate from high school I'll be 17 up until Sept. when most school years start. Does anyone know of any scholarships that don't require age limit? Any and all comments are greatly appreciated :)

HI,

IF you really want scholarships to help pay for college, then you need to consider colleges that give merit scholarships. Colleges give the biggest scholarships and they are for usually for all 4 years.

It sounds like the scholarships your school is talking about are private scholarships. Those are often for one year only and are often rather small. (BTW…I’ve never heard of a private scholarship that requires an applicant to already be 18 if high school seniors are allowed to apply. Perhaps those scholarships are for post-freshman year.)
