hey, i was wondering if i could have help narrowing down my options for college. I have straight A's and am interested in an ivy league. I don't want to pursue music as a career, but i am really involved with Jazz in my community. I've won a number of awards this year and play in a few ensembles, so i'd like to be at a school with a rigorous academic program as well as exposure to music specifically jazz. Thanks

Tulane springs out as a good match school to consider depending on your test scores. Music helps with admission as well, I have seen it via a friend. Great campus and location. Plenty of music in New Orleans. Also, what is your intended major? That would help a lot for more suggestions.

something in the sciences

Read this thread first:

<a href=“Before you ask which colleges to apply to, please consider - College Search & Selection - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/college-search-selection/1621234-before-you-ask-which-colleges-to-apply-to-please-consider-p1.html

and go to the forums for the colleges you are thinking of and read this year’s accepted student threads so you get some idea of the students strengths

This is final acceptance date week so people are likely a bit distracted with than.
