School in Europe

I am looking for a bachelors program in accounting in Europe that I can then use in the US. I am a dual citizen and want to study abroad but want to find a program that has reciprocity in the US. Any suggestions are welcome!

Not my field, and the info I have may be out of date, but afaik no EU countries have accounting reciprocity with the US. However you can go do an accounting course in the EU, then study for the US CPA exam.

Need help understanding what you mean by “a program that has reciprocity in the US”.

In the US , CPA licenses are issued by individual states.

As someone else has mentioned, what you’re ultimately looking for is the ability to become a CPA. This is a bit more convoluted with a European degree, as you’ll be running into the 150 hour rule (a CPA has to have 150 credit hours, which is typically a BA plus one year’s study in the US). However, in Europe, an undergraduate degree can be either 3 or 4 years, depending on the country.

You might want to consider getting an MAcc degree upon your return to the US; that would allow you to practice back in the US. Alternatively, you could get a masters overseas and point to the fact that it is equivalent to a BA+1 in the US. However, you’d want to check with your state before committing.

Finally, a route you may want to take is to work for a major accounting company. The biggest ones have offices in both the EU and the US, and regularly move around staff with little difficulty.
