So, as a rising senior, it's time for me to start deciding where i would like to attend school. The University of Chicago has always been in my interest. But For someone who wants to go towards with field of aviation and is interested in transportation studies, this may not be the best choice. I would like to attend a university in a big city, preferably Chicago, but I've also looked at Stevens Institute of technology(Hoboken), U of M Twin Cities, and the U of I system. Still the U of Chicago still attracts me. Any suggestions where I should be looking at/putting my energy into? Should I consider going to UChicago for a liberal arts degree before taking a path to aviation or go through UIUC aviation program?

What do you want to do with regards to aviation?

I’m afraid I don’t know much about studying aviation. You might look into the very well-known aviation program at the University of North Dakota.

Apply to all… You’re assuming you’ll get in at UChicago and UMich, but they’re very competitive! However, if you have to make a decision between all these schools come next May, more power to you!

Aviation program at UND? Never heard of it. Try Embry Riddle or Rose Hulman (and of course the AF Academy).

What do you mean by “aviation studies”? Do you want to be a pilot? Do you want to engineer airplanes? etc…

How much can your family pay? Are you in-state for any of the public universities on your list?

your chances are very slim to get into Chicago. its a major reach.

Huh, where did he mention UMich?

Whoops! Saw “U of M” and my mind said UMich without further reading, lol. Brainfart…=P Or maybe UMich has too many CC fanboys. =P My original point still stands, though.
