Does anyone know if USC admits SCA applicants for the spring?

Someone I know is currently in a spring semester at the SCA, so I'd say yes. :)

Who still has the message "received your grades'? And, who has in the last several days moved on from that status?

I still have the "received your grades"...so yeahhhh, life sucks right now. I'm in MA just in case that affects anything.

Did everyone who hasn't yet been accepted to SCA have their grades requested? Are most of you on "we have received your grades"? Just testing another probably useless theory.....

P.s. I know that Chinaski is on we are reviewing your app----NJ person......

My son received a status message on 2/14 to submit grades, which he did.
On 3/4 it changed to we have received your grades, and that is where we are stuck as of today.

my friend got accepted to USC, but the film acceptances have yet to be announced. thats wut she told me.

anwyay. i'm so worried.

i was working hard on UC aps due a week bfor USC film... and i sorta threw together my app... ahhhhhhhhh. >_<. i feel so screwed cause i had grammar errors all over the place.... bah.

not to mention my 3.3 uw GPA ... i guess my ACT score is ok tho... (3).

i meant the USC university, but not film school... yet.

My daughter never had her grades requested but she sent them in anyway.
She was put on "in review" on Friday. She had several email communications with her admissions advisor on Thursday and Friday morning. Kind of wondering if that had an impact or if it was just coincidental.

^ditto for my S on sending them in anyway and going to "in review" on Friday. He did not communicate with his admissions advisor at all.

coolrena8, so your friend got an acceptance packet that said film hadn't decided yet or did it say she was accepted for undecided? When did she get her acceptance? Were her stats and creative stuff really strong?

What plans do you all have if not accepted into film school?

^^^ I applied for both Critical Studies and BA Theatre so I'm just banking on getting in to one of those...

My son applied for production. Yesterday his status finally changed to being reviewed. Good luck to all........

My S is accepted to Chapman for film production, but he didn't have a plan B, but I think that was a mistake. I put that on the thread about "101 things I wish I'd known..." in the Parents Forum.

I think kids applying for the various film majors, musical theatre, or anything like that, needs to have a plan B....a second choice major and a list of schools to go with that major.

S did apply to a state flagship where his older brother goes and my H went. He would have majored in "whatever" there. In hindsight, we should have given more thought to "what if I don't get into film school" because that was a huge possibility!

Collegeboundx2, does your son have applications in to any other film programs?

Yes, he applied to a total of 5 schools which offer a film program. He is in at one and waiting to hear from the other four which includes USC. We live in the Southeast so his school span coast to coast.

How does he feel about the one to which he's been accepted? Is he excited about the possibility of going there, or is he holding out for one of the others?

His first choice is USC, but he has known all along how competitive the university is and how few freshman the film program takes. He will be thrilled if he is accepted to USC, but is happy with his other choices. So far he has been accepted to his fourth choice and waiting to hear from the other three.
His fifth choice was his safety, which he didn't really want to attend and which he won't since he is in at another. He is waiting until April 1 to hear from the others. I have heard good things about Chapman. My son found out about a little too late to submit an application. Good luck to your son.

Ditto for us on how competitive USC is. Applying there was kind of like throwing a hail Mary pass, in my opinion. The funny thing is that S is so excited about Chapman now, that he thinks he would probably choose Chapman over USC if he were admitted there. We would urge him to slow down and think that through very carefully. :-) We haven't even visited either place. We are planning a visit to Chapman in April, and we should know by then about USC, too.

We haven't seen USC either. He's also waiting to hear from Cal Arts, which he hasn'nt seen either. I am hoping we have to make a mad cross country dash to check them out........ Enjoy your tour of Chapman.

timely-- sry for the late reply

my friend DOES have pretty strong stats/ec's
i'm not sure what her letter said, but i'm pretty sure she put film production as first chioce (and she probably put a 2nd choice too,b ut i'm not sure what), and all i know is that she's accepted into USC university... but she doesn't know if she's accepted into film yet.
