I saw a Comm '08 thread, so I decided to make one for us. Post anything you'd like. I just thought it'd be cool as a gathering place of sorts. Yay!

And I actually have a question for anyone who knows. What are our distribution requirements outside of our major? I can only find the ones for the WCAS people, and I'm not sure if they're the same for us.

Hey themockery, I remember you saying you were at preview weekend that I was. I didn't realize you were in comm...I wonder if I met you...haha. I'm a film major.

great idea! if i'm correct, we need 18 credits outside of our major in math/science, history, and english...i may be leaving something out, but i know for sure the golden number is 18.

Thanks, tophat. I know we'll find out details at orientation, but it's nice to have some idea beforehand.

Safiamilke, did you go to the Comm info session on Monday afternoon? I was there. I'm a theatre major, but I'd love to take film classes sometime.

Sadly, I decided not to go to Northwestern. The film program just didn't jell with me. I think its just to small for my taste, and chicago's film scene is tiny. I felt the same way when I visited harvard. I thought I would love it, but the film department just wasn't what I wanted.

I was at the info thing...the theater guy was amazing but the film woman really sucked. Compared to him, she seemed so un-involved.

But, I found my new home at NYU's Film School. I'm really excited!

Congrats! NYU is a great place to be, and I've heard good things about their film program. I turned NYU down in favor of Northwestern, coincidentally, but I still like the school :) Have fun next year!

For theater, Northwestern is by far better, hands down!

Yeah, plus I decided that I didn't want a BFA, which is all that Tisch offers.

I love my BFA. HA! And I'm getting a B.A. too (I think almost 75% of film major double major...I'm not sure about theater kids. That whole subsidizing thing seems weird...especially since you could enroll at those studios outside of nyu and save yourself thousands of dollars.
