I am currently a senior in HS. I am planning on applying to SAIC this year to attend in th e fall of 2011. I want to go for a BFA with an Emphasis in Writing. So basically I want to major in creative writing. But, I haven't found much about this major online, even their website. i assume this is because they are more focused on the arts portion of the school, meaning drawing, painting, etc. But I was wondering if I could get any information on this portion of the school and the school as a whole. This school is my first choice,if accepted i will attend. Also I am planning on visiting. Information I would like to know is how much would they focus on my grades and test scores compared to my writing, and how much financial aid on average would i be able to get. Also do you have to apply early to qualify for a merit scholarship.

FWIW, see the comments on the MFA program in this blog—not sure how much that tells you about the undergrad program:

I don’t know whether they focus more on grades/scores vs. your writing or what the financial aid situation is.
