School recommendations?

Hi, I am going to be a high school senior in the fall, and I was wondering if anyone could recommend schools for me to apply to. This is my current list:

WashU in St. Louis
University of South Carolina
University of Michigan
Skidmore
Marymount Manhattan
Tulane
University of Wisconsin, Madison
University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign
Wesleyan University
Temple University
Loyola University Chicago
George Washington University
Butler
Ball State
Elon
Northern Illinois (safety)
Akron University

My parents really want me to double major, which is why I’m leaning more towards BA programs. I have decent grades in advanced classes (W GPA 4.055, ACT 32), and I’m nowhere near company ready which is why I’m looking for less selective or non audition programs. I live in Illinois. I want to focus more on teaching than on performing (another reason for the BA). If anyone has any feedback on these schools or any other suggestions, I would greatly appreciate the input!

You might look into Ohio University. They offer a BFA, BA and three dance minors. They also have something called the Honors Tutorial College which has it’s own Dance Program. Our D will be double majoring in Dance and Exercise Physiology. Akron has a BA double major in Dance and Business. I think it is geared towards people who might like to one day own their own studio.

Idk if you want a women’s college, but Mt Holyoke has an excellent dance program

How about Shenandoah University. My daughter graduated from there and had a friend who doubled majored in dance and english and did very well. Also, Muhlenberg in PA has a very good BA program

I suggest that you look at James Madison University in VA. It is a strong BA dance program, and it is possible to double major.

Thank you all for your suggestions!

Goucher
Hollins
Bennington
Muhlenberg
Sarah Lawrence
Connecticut College
Skidmore
Kenyon
Barnard (if female)
Smith (If female, flexible curriculum)
Hamilton (flexible curriculum, good for exploring diverse interests)

(Hollins also if female.)

Of your stated choices, Skidmore, WUStL and GW would support some of strongest dance programs.

Concurring with the suggestion of Ohio University.

Also look into Middlebury and Amherst.

In terms of your admissions prospects, you can get a rough idea of them here:
