School report

I've submitted all my apps. The teacher recommendations are in and I've paid the fees and everything, but the School Report thing on the Common App still says "not started." I've already called the guidance office twice today, and there's no one I can call at six p.m.

They said they would put it in on time and apparently they haven't...does this mean my applications will automatically go to RD? I imagine they haven't sent my transcripts either. :/

It is possible that the report just logged in yet by the college. They are busy now. Everything will be time stamped. If they consider it is late, then you should be put into RD automatically. If the report is just a little late, some will give a little leeway.

^^^
If the GC had completed the school report and sent it on its way, wouldn’t the CA status be “submitted”? It sounds like there’s something wrong here; either the GC hasn’t submitted the report, or the CA is not displaying the correct status.

Bump…

Don’t worry too much. The colleges want YOU to get your stuff in on time. They get that recommendations, test scores, and school reports often lag a bit in getting to them. It won’t hurt your chances. They have TONS of applications to go through, and some are not complete for a couple of weeks after the “deadline”. As long as YOUR application and payment are in, that is what really needs to be there by the deadline. You have some leeway on the other pieces. So don’t yell at your GC (you probably wouldn’t anyway). But stop in to see them if it still isn’t showing as in on Tuesday and just ask about it.

^ ^ ^ This.

The filing deadline is for YOUR part of the application - not the GC’s, or the recommender’s, or whoever else slows things down along the way. The colleges understand that you have no control over what happens in your school guidance office and, wherever possible, you won’t be penalized for it. If the report isn’t in by decision time . . . well, that’s another story. But that hasn’t happened yet, so don’t worry about it.
