School Stress and Anxiety

Recently I've been suffering a lot from stress and I have been a little bit depressed the past week because of recent things.

Right now as a sophomore, I am taking 5 advanced/honors classes (no APs) including Honors Chemistry, Accel (which is like honors) World History, and Honors Trig/Pre-Calc (these are my hardest classes).

I am also involved in many ECs such as, violin in San Francisco Youth Orchestra (which is very prestigious and considered one of the best in the nation), piano studies (Certificate of Merit Level 9), black belt in Karate, Community service project of teaching karate to young girls.

Anyways, I didn't really come to write up a whole resume, but I just want to give an idea of my schedule. I have been really stressed out with school, mostly Honors Chemistry which is the hardest class I've taken SO FAR. And also being in the youth orchestra takes lots of commitment and time.

So I guess I would just like to know some tips about controlling the stress. It just feels like an endless pile of work and I have to keep going for the next two years. So if anyone could give some advice, that would be great. Thanks!

Seems like you’re wearing too many hats. I know you need to do all this to get into a good university, but it is not worth your health and piece of mind. So reduce a few of your extra curricular activities while not compromising on your school grades. Also join those activities which interest you and not those because they’ll look good on your college admission.
Hope it helped.

Take some time off and do things that interest you. Not much, at most just a couple of hours a week, just to do something you enjoy and keep your mind off the stress, but that way you won’t be sacrificing your grades of ECs. Be good about time management, keep a schedule.

Thank you for the advice. I’m actually really passionate about all my ECs, but they are busy and can be difficult. But I will work on better time management and taking some time off.
