I have an idea of where I want to apply to, but I’d like some opinions from this forum. On the new SAT, I got a 700 on Critical Reading and Writing and a 740 in Math. I haven’t taken the SAT II or ACT yet. I currently have a 3.84 unweighted GPA and 4.001 weighted GPA. I am a Texas resident. I wish to study international relations. Thanks for the suggestions!
Literally hundreds and hundreds of schools would fit your criteria. You should do some work to narrow the suggestions down to be meaningful to you. Provide us with information like…
- How much your parents will contribute to your college education.
- What things you want in your college experience. This can include things like (but not limited to) location (both where in the country as well as if you prefer urban/suburban/rural schools), preferred size, other things you may want or not want such as Greek Life, big time sports, religion etc.
Right now I’m just thinking about where I can get accepted into academically with my current status and the international relations programs the schools could have
@jdam9828 - what @happy1 is trying to say is that the forum members could list hundreds of schools with your current criteria. If you could give a bit more information about what you’re looking for, there are people here willing to help.

Liberal vs conservative
religious or lack thereof
Study abroad (I would assume so)
For Location, I’d prefer somewhere close to a major urban area. For political ideology, I’d rather something moderate, but I think I’d lean more liberal. I’m content with a religious school as long as the practice of religion isn’t integrated into the curriculum itself. For study abroad, I definitely want as much opportunity as possible. I really want the school to be diverse and international. I’m cool with high costs as long as there’s a decent amount of non-loan aid offered.
What do you consider a “decent amount”? Please ask your parents what’s affordable.
Georgetown is an obvious suggestion for someone interested in IR. Also consider American and George Washington, both easier admissions-wise. Being in DC is a no-brainer for someone with an IR interest.
