School supplies

It's my first year studying in US and I am going to buy some school supplies.

What do I need ?

I am taking 5 sujects: Spanish, English, AP Cal, AP Physics, and Biology.

I am so sorry for this dummy question.

can anyone reply to my stupid question ?

You'll need a graphing calculator, 5 notebooks, pens, pencils, a Spanish dictionary, and possibly a few bookcovers. Yep.

ehh, does your school tell you what you need??...that is the case with most schools..i think..

cool. thanks.

Like how students organize stuffs. Do they use binder or ?? We don't use binders. We just put notebooks in book bag and that's it

Binders irritate me.
I use the Five Star Flex Notebooks. They're a wonderful symbiosis of a notebook and binder.

I'm also obsessed with Post-It Notes.

some ppl. use binders..but yeah..find the notebooks with like a place to still put papers and stuff...

I have a 1" binder, just to organize the exorbitant amount of sheets I get in Spanish. I use to own this giant 2.5" binder that just ate up space in my back pack though.

Of the 5 notebooks you'll be getting, make sure that four of them are at least 3-subject notebooks (so you don't end up using two different notebooks for one class). I use a graphing notebook for Calc. Don't forget a multi-tabbed folder, one tab for each subject.

another stupid one.

Can I get all these things at Staples ?

so I should get 1'' binder ?

What is multi-tabbed folder for ?

Staples should have them. But you can get them in many stores, like Wal-Mart or Target. Just try to avoid getting cheap things that will need to be replaced during the year.

Office Max is a pretty cool store too.

so can anyone give me a final list ?

Staples is a RIP OFF when it comes to binders!!!!!!!!!!!

You can't find a 1" binder for less than $7. At least, not at the staples I used to go to. And I checked three years in a row!!

I would suggest:

Scientific (no need to spend $100 on a graphing calculator just yet unless you're going to some prep school) calculator
3 packs loose-leaf paper (buy this as you need it)
red pens
pencils
black pens
notebooks/binders (your teachers may require one or the other--you might want to wait on this)
post its or highlighters (if these work for you)
index cards
erasers
pencil sharpener

--I'm probably forgetting a bunch of stuff, but this should give you a head start.

Thanks.

I am taking Calculus BC so is scientific calculator enough ?

Should I get 3 or 5 subjects notebook ?

1'' binder will be ideal right ?

If Staples is so expensive, should I get at office max then ?

Just go to Wal-Mart. Ah, welcome to capitalist America.

Just avoid the Hannah Montana aisle in the Walmart supplies. It's entirely nauseating. (they even sold Hannah Montana glue sticks!!!!)

^^^Isn't it sick???

I found High School Musical fake-purell yesterday. :)

The have a Hannah Montana aisle? Seriously? I knew there was a reason I've never been in Walmart.:)

As for school supplies:
Binders/notebooks - it's really just a matter of preference (and some teachers require one or the other)
Dividers for binders if you want/need them
Lined and graph paper (plus printer paper if you don't already have it)
Pencils
Black/blue pens
Calculator, graphing for most schools (many stores are having sales right now so you could get one for around $80)
Highlighters
Index cards
Lock for your locker (unless the school provides them or they're built in to the lockers)
Book covers, I prefer the cloth ones because you can reuse them but you can always use paper bags which are free

you're gonna need a graphing if youre taking calc
