School Transcript through Common App for international schools

Hi! I am applying to a US university for the first time this year as an international student. I wanted to ask someone who is knowledgeable of the Common App procedures about the ways that my school can submit my transcript.
Since the transcript will most likely be issued in a foreign language, can the person filling in for a counselor submit both the original and the certified translation via the Common App website or does he/she need to have both of those mailed?
Also, I am not quite certain about who exactly can act as my counselor (understandably, my school has no such position). Can this be the head teacher or the assistant head teacher or do I need to ask one of my teachers in regular courses to act as a counselor?

Thank you!

Hi!
I am also an international student and I asked a teacher to act as my counselor. She is filling the forms via common app but is mailing the transcript through fedex.

Good luck!

My D’s HS (in the USA) does not submit Common App on-line. Something about the school not having access to Docufide. So, either your school has access and already knows how to do it, or they do not, and will have to mail the transcript. When they mail it, they can include a translation.

Anyone at your school can be your “counselor”. Generally, it will be the person who is responsible to make sure that students are on track to fulfill the graduation requirements. Some small schools, teachers fill that role. Some large schools have dedicated staff. When you select your courses each year, do you meet with someone to discuss the selection? That person is likely your “counselor”.

You could always ask your principal, in my case I asked our administrative assistant and she submitted both the translation and the official copy of the transcript online she just scanned them and uploaded them.

@intstudent2012 Thank you! Good luck to you as well! I will probably ask whoever fills in as counselor to try and submit the transcript online.
@OperaDad Actually, in my country, we do not select courses each year. Each school has a predetermined course plan; we only get to choose at which institution do we enroll. My school has never before submitted documents through the commonapp, but I believe that the assistant head teacher would be willing to do so.
@raqbau Thank you a lot! That pretty much solves my problem. :-)

Glad I could help :)

Does it have to be scanned ? my school sent a PDF, is that okay ?
