Hello, My daughter is a sophomore in a private school in CA Bay Area and we are considering moving her to a public school or another private school in the same neighborhood for her Junior years (11th). The reason is primarily the academic demand in the current school – its too high to cope with. Some of my friends are advising that moving to a different school at Junior year in the same neighborhood will reflect badly on the college admission process. Moving outside the state, they say, is acceptable but not within the state. I am willing to consider a wider move - if this, in fact, is the case. However, I want to get your feedback on the validity of that argument.
