Hi
I have taken two ACTs and deleted one. The score remaining is a 36.
My HS counselor just told me that either none of the scores or all the scores will be on the transcript. What should I do? Should I ask the counselor to remove both and just self report? that’s a viable option right? Since there’s no real advantage to having scores on the transcript, for schools that require official score reports ill just send it to them directly
Many schools will ask you to send all of the scores anyway and they will only consider the highest scores, so you might not gain much by removing the scores from your transcript.
Alternatively, the college will require an official score report, so it’s not like having a score on your transcript helps. It’s your call if you want the transcript to show zero or two, It’s not a big deal either way.
Sure, remove and self report. If they want official scores, just pay to send them. Most HSs don’t put test scores on transcripts. IMHO it is an antiquated practice from when we all took the tests once.
@LoveTheBard Almost all the schools that I’m looking at only consider 1 score
@skieurope @intparent that’s what I was thinking. I’ll just ask my counselor to remove the two scores and I’ll self report one score on common app. For the colleges that want me to send official score report I’ll just send them the one ACT.
Just be aware that there is several weeks of lead time sending scores. It is not as instantaneous and electronic as one would expect in 2018.
@intparent Ok so if a college deadline is Jan 1, I should send in scores by Dec 1?
But out of the colleges on my list, Case western is the only one so far that requires you to submit official test record – they don’t accept self reporting. so this is only an issue for case western thus far.
If you are sure you are applying, you can send earlier. Does CW have a deadline you need to apply by for merit? I’d send it 6 weeks or so before that. They don’t lose them, and a 36 will pique their interest.
