I had really bad freshman and sophomore years pulling out a 2.5 and 2.6. My Junior year i realized my mistakes and applied myself to get to were i am. I have taken 4 ap and 5 honors. Signed up for 3 AP and 1 Honors this year (senior). ACT is a 27, but still can improve on the upcoming december test. What schools do you think i have a shot at, some on my list are...

if you have any other schools i can get into, im trying to get into the best school my horrible stats can obtain.

Ohio state: High match
Syracuse: High match
Penn State: High match
Pitt: Reach
UWI: Reach
Amherst: Reach (unrealistic one at that, unless you mean UMass Amherst, which is a high match)
Uconn: High match
American: Reach
Fordham: Reach
UMN: High match

U Missouri is a recommendation I can make you, as long as you aren’t J-school-bound…

Seems like you would have a better shot at some of your hoped for schools if you did your freshman year at someplace that is a match for you, and then applied to transfer. Good luck! You should be proud of yourself for not letting those first 2 years get you down and trying to do better!

Is money an object? What state do you live in? What do you want to study?

The reality is that the vast majority of schools (although not the ones discussed on CC) are non-selective and will admit almost anyone (and your grades/scores make you far from that). Just google non-selective admissions and you should get a large number of schools popping up.

As for specific recommendations, try Purdue, Michigan State, and almost any of the private schools mentioned in Pope’s Book Colleges that Change Lives except for Reed, Whitman, St. Olaf’s, and probably Hampshire.

i live in illinois, money is not really an option, my parents will probably move to somewhere in the east coast anyway after i graduate so location is not a factor either.

Ohio state: High match

Penn State: match
Pitt: Reach
UWI: Reach
Amherst: Reach (I don’t think this a great choice).
Uconn: High match
American: Reach
Fordham: Reach
UMN: High match

Apply to a branch school for Pitt and Penn State and then try transferring after one or two years to the main campus. The branch schools may be willing to overlook the rather low GPA… That being said you are applying from out of state, making it harder to get in, look at some local schools/in state where it will be easier to get in.

Im a senior i know its a little late cant really apply early. If it helps I got a rec letter from the head of our social studies department, and from my AP Euro Teacher. Also i got one from my both freshman regular bio and AP bio teacher. He will probably write about how ive grown and to judge me where i am now instead of were ive been. I dont know if it will help much but it cant hurt.

What are my chances to the previous schools i mentioned!! Thank You

Don’t use the recommendation from freshman year unless you took another class with that teacher junior year. Colleges frown upon recommendations that are not from junior year classes unless you have continued to study/work with the teacher. Same applies with the head of the social studies department, if you did not take a class with/work with them last year don’t use the recommendation.

Your GPA is a little low for most schools, I would call Temple and Drexel matches (your SAT compensate in the case of those two schools).

Thanks artsy and everyone else that has contributed. Any more input will be greatly appreciated. Heres my full list to chance
