I would like to double major at a school that excels in both the sciences and writing. Any input would be a great amount of help.

How much can your family afford? What is your home state? Many schools will fill the bill

And what are your GPA and test scores?

My family will take into consideration every school, I live in CA.

I’m mainly interested about whether schools like Pitzer, UCSD, or USC are known to be great in both. Great as in having a great academic reputation.

Or just great academically, with no reputation.

Most academically solid schools will have solid academic offerings in “science” and “writing” (both of which are extremely vague and broad fields - there are a lot of majors that involve science, and many more that involve writing).

Any one of the schools you have listed will have good offerings. Flip through your selected colleges’ handbooks to see what majors they have and what courses are offered in those majors.

Alright thanks, I was trying to be extremely vague.

Some schools offer majors in science journalism/writing, e.g.,

you really should check out butler university great all around school with happy students and great science and journalism programs.
it may not be on your radar screen.(a lot of folks in cali seem like they are unaware of the rest of the united states)

I will and I am aware. I honestly don’t know what’s up with people’s ignorant remarks.

When you ask an overly broad question with few guidelines you get what you got. Sorry but you need to give people more to get more.

Northwestern, if you have competitive enough stats to get in, has the Medill school of Journalism, one of the best in the nation, and, of course, has a great science program. It’s ranked 19 by Times Higher Education World University Rankings, 30 in Academic Ranking of World Universities, and 27 in QS World Rankings, which even though rankings aren’t that important in the grand scheme of things, shows that it’s a very quality school
