On CC, all I ever hear about is the Harvard's, Princeton's, and Yale's. Well Im just not to that caliber, so I need some help.

I need some schools that I can actually get into. All of the schools I'm looking at are ridiculously hard to get into. Ill tell you guys what I want, and maybe you can give me some schools.

I want
* a big sports scene
* traditional campus
* I want the school do have a prominent, prestigious name
* cool weather
* size isn't a factor
* a very residential school.... most of the kids live on campus and don't go home on the weekends

Ill just give you a few of my stats so you know where to look

28 ACT
3.99 weighted GPA... like 3.75 unweighted
varsity athlete

I always thought I wanted to go to Michigan, hence the screen name, but I went and visited and I did not like it. It just seemed like office building throughout downtown Ann Arbor. I actually live in the southwest.

You could probably figure out right now whether you qualify for admission at UIUC. When I applied, admission was based on a formula of your GPA and SAT (or ACT) score. I don't know what they do about out-of-state people as I'm sure it must be harder for them.

BTW, I'm pretty sure you need to take the SAT or retake the ACT. Your GPA is ok, but your ACT is too low for a some state schools (e.g., Michigan, UCLA) if you are not in-state.

The advantage of taking the SAT is that it is a separate testing service so you don't have to send them your ACT.

The OP has only had 2 B's in his entire career (the rest A's). Those aren't average grades, don't let the OP's statements fool you. The OP has around a 3.9 GPA using the transcript posted here.

The OP's citizenship is in Arizona. As a result, there are great in-state opportunities at U of Arizona and Arizona State, with in-state tuition, plus likely scholarships due to teriffic test scores and grades. Safeties, but good schools with a "name".

If you are looking for a name, you will get accepted to Michigan. You've already said you don't like it though. Michigan is a big name, with a peer assessment of 4.5.

If you're looking for names bigger than Michigan that have sports, the only one's that come to mind are Stanford, Berkeley, and Northwestern, and those athletic programs don't even compare. Equal to or lesser names include Virginia, UCLA, Wisconsin, and North Carolina, all whom have great sport programs.
