vassar is my ideal school.
i need some more schools like her on my list.
any suggestions?

Brown, Wesleyan and Bard. To lesser extent in some areas Middlebury, Skidmore, Bates, and Connecticut College.

I definitely agreed with Brown, Wesleyan, Bard, and Skidmore. Some other recommendations in the same general area (Northeast and Mid-Atlantic) would be Swarthmore College, Wheaton College in Massachusetts and Goucher College. If you're interested in looking in some other areas of the country you could also try Oberlin College in Ohio, Reed College in Oregon, and the University of Chicago. Keep in mind that these schools represent a broad selection in terms of how challenging they are to get into.

What would be some (considered) safety schools with Vassar's same overall vibe?

Bard would be a safety for Vassar.

Hamilton College would be a great back up to Vassar. It has a beautiful campus and a great vibe, and my daughter (who loves Vassar and is finishing her freshman year there) almost applied to Hamilton as her ED school instead of Vassar. The campus is more isolated, but if you can adapt to the rural surroundings, it could be a great school for you.

Hamilton is pretty conservative and has a much different vibe... I'd say Oberlin would be a good back-up, though it's not really a "safety" and is probably harder to get into than Hamilton, I think.

University of Vermont.

and I don't think you could call Hamiliton College a safety, at all.

check out Haverford too, there seemed to be lots of cross admits this year. (at least in terms of facebook, haha)

I wouldn't call Bard a safety for most... it's easier to get into than Vassar, but definitely not a walk-in for Vassar hopefuls. Instead I'd recommend taking a peek at Goucher College if you're looking for a safety which leaves you very little chance of not getting in. Skidmore, Wheaton (MA), and then Bard would be a few other options of schools which are a bit more selective, but you'd probably get into if your stats are within the range they need to be for Vassar.

When I applied to Vassar (*many * moons ago) my safety was Union.

Mine was Lawrence. Don't get me wrong--it's a good school, just less selective than any of the others I applied to. It is, however, Midwestern and definitely has a different atmosphere than Vassar does.
