I was wondering which schools make it possible to study abroad multiple times? Is it often possible? Like 2-3 semesters in different places. (Not just multiple summer sessions.)

Hi, does anyone have info on this possibility?

It depends on what the source of your study abroad credits are. Is your college issuing the credit? Are you taking it as an exchange student in an SA program your college sponsors? Are you taking it from an independent SA program provider? Are you taking it through another US college that has an SA program?

This matters, as some SA credits are viewed as “transfer credits” and you’d need to check your college’s “transfer credit policy” for SA credits. Is there a limit on how many transfer credits you can bring in? Maybe 60 credits?

Also, is there a way to progress in your major’s course requirements in SEQUENCE while integrating SA? Will some SA coursework “count” as courses in your major? As gen eds? As extra electives?

There are some colleges that tout their commitment to SA. There might be January-only options, semester-long options, and summer semester options.

Maybe you could find some good info at the Transitions Abroad website?
