Hey all, help would be much appreciated. I’m applying to colleges in the fall and really do need help making a list. Below are my stats/ECS/what I’m looking for in a school etc/
Intended Major: Business/Econ (with business course offerings
STATS: SAT; 1380 700M 680CRW, No subject tests, GPA: 3.7 UW (one of the top public school in the country, known for rigor)
EC’s: Interned at Fortune 500 Company, Interned at High-end PR Firm, Interned at Nationally Recognized Museum, President of Best Buddies Chapter, Started a Social Media Marketing Agency and amassed 700K social media followers for companies,
I’m looking for schools preferably in the northeast that have a strong business program, but also a community of some sort. Kind of like the small liberal arts feel in a school, but also could be down for a medium-sized urban school.
Please recommend some schools, I’m so lost and need to get my list together.

What I’m Looking for
Liberal Arts Social type feels with a community, but at the same time, am open to a larger, more urban campus.
Preferably on the Northeast, but open to anywhere (even international) except for the south
Business/Economics program with business courses
Other than that I’m really not sure, someone please help, thanks so much.
Richmond does sound great, the only thing that does concern me is the social life. Coming from an NYC, liberal background, I’m not sure how well I’d fit in at a school like Richmond.
Muhlenberg and Bucknell both have business programs.
As mentioned earlier URichmond is out of your target geographic area but might be a good fit as well (and I do know a number of people from NY who had wonderful experiences there). The class profile is attached and you can see where students come from. https://admissions.richmond.edu/studentprofile/index.html
If a Jesuit school is OK then I’d definitely also look at Fordham (check out both the Lincoln Center and Rose Hill campus – depends on the major/environment you want).
Thanks so much for the input. Fordham is out of my list entirely because I live right next to the lincoln center campus, don’t wanna be near home for college. Do you know anything about social life at Muhlenberg or Bucknell?
My son loved Kogod at American University in DC he has been out about 6 years
He is doing very well in his career and is in close touch with so many of his friends. They all seem to be doing well.
There are lots of different options…GW, BC, Holy Cross are other ideas offhand. There is also Babson and Bentley outside of Boston. If you are in NY then consider SUNY Binghamton as well.
I would strongly recommend you get your hands on some good college guide books (ex. Fiske, Princeton Review) and start reading up on schools. It is a great way to learn about different options.
Lehigh - a reach, Lafayette -reach (economics major, no business majors)
Wheaton (MA), Loyola Maryland
Run the Net Price Calculators (NPCs) at each school to get cost estimates.
Second U of Richmond, also Villanova? Washington and Lee might be a reach, also a bit more conservative? But I somehow think (stereotype of mine?) kids in Econ/business are more conservative anyway.
Bucknell came to mind first. Dickinson has international business and while I don’t think Gettysburg has a business major, they do seem to place a lot of grads in business.
St. Lawrence grads appear to land quite well in their early careers. For perspective, they earn slightly more at this stage than graduates of a highly ranked liberal arts college such as Colby.
