Schools with Music Industry Major

Hello,

Does anybody know of schools with a good music industry program? I am looking to major in music industry and want to go to a school in a location that provides plenty of opportunities and has a program that is focused on allowing a lot of time for internships co-ops, study abroad programs, etc. Also, I live in North Carolina, so I’m looking for a school on the eastern side of the US.

Thanks in advance.

Look at Syracuse’s Bandier program. It’s very competitive, with only 25-30 accepted each year, but it sounds like it ticks all the boxes.

Belmont. http://www.belmont.edu/curb/

Belmont, MTSU, Lipscomb, all in Nashville area and all very well regarded in the industry.

I think the Syracuse Bandier program is the best. The school considers it an important program and Martin Bandier provides a lot of support in the industry. Start early, go to every event SU is at, visit the school and make sure your resume can stand up against those that already got in. Search the SU site for Bandier resumes. See the newest ones because that reflects everything they did up through high school. Good luck!

What did you decide? We are also from NC and are strongly considering Belmont.

You might look at Northeastern. With its coop program, internships help with job prospects.

Belmont, MTSU, Loyola New Orleans, and the biggies - NYU, USC, Syracuse, Berkley

The College of Saint Rose in Albany NY.
