Stole the idea from safewayrules in the UCSD forum. Anyway, what schools have you turned down for UCSB?

I turned down for UCSB: UC San Diego, UC Davis, University of Michigan, George Washington (w/ two years tuiton), University of Washington, University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, Purdue, University of Wisconsin-Madison.

I got rejected by: UCLA (sucks being an out-of-state applicant)

Went to visit the midwest... realized I'm a west coast guy who likes the suburban feel =)

I turned town UC San Diego, UC Irvine, Rutgers, University of North Carolina Wilmington, Quinnipiac University, Ithaca College, UMASS Amhurst, an dUniversity of Rhose island, college of charleston to go to UCSB but i am really happy with my choice.

Rejected from pepperdine, waitlisted still at Udel

hurrrhurhur international student. :x i think the fee out-of-stater's have to pay is ridiculous... oh well, i'm sure it's worth it yes? :)

i turned down university of durham (uk) and university of london (uk). i originally thought i'd be going to UK, but when i thought about it i decided i'd like US better. :)

and woah, you guys all sound really smart :x man.

wow so many good schools that you guys turned down for UCSB. I only turned down UCM for UCSB :)
rejected by: UCB, UCSD,UCLA,UCD,UCI
UCSB did the best thing by accepting me :) especially I got into college of Engineering

Discordial: Hey NO I didn't! :-( I know, my parents were dissapointed too when they found out. Oh well. UCSB is still WAY less expensive than the other schools so it all works out.

that's really strange. i think regents is sort of random, though; i know someone who got into dartmouth but didn't get it at uci, and another person who got regents at ucsd but not uci. :-/

GAUCHO6: YOU TURNED DOWN STANFORD FOR UCSB? OKAY, LIKE, UCB I CAN DEFINITELY STOMACH, BUT STANFORD. oh, my /heart/. is completely in awe

but hay, cool! looks like the incoming UCSB has some really brainy people, judging from this thread. :)

When Stanford gives you very little financial aid and you really don't want to be living going head to head with your peers for the top grades, Stanford doesn't seem like much...I guess it isn't for everyone.
Besides, how can I pass up UCSB?

geniuses!! :) hah. it's true that UCSB will be easier going for people who want to go to med school, but it'll probably be much harder to get into a good one...?
all the CollegeConfidential people should meet up sometime before/during school. :D
